Philip joined Staples Rodway as a graduate in 1995 working in both the Stratford and New Plymouth offices to become a key member of the firm's management team prior to his Directorship appointment in January 2006.

Philip provides Business Advisory Services to both farming and commercial clients and complementing this knowledge is an in-depth understanding of the bloodstock field. Born and raised in the Waikato, the horse capital of New Zealand, Phil grew up around horses, a background that allows him to provide expert equestrian business advice, such knowledge is a rare find anywhere south of Waikato.

Phil provides advice on all matters of bloodstock, including syndication, GST issues including the exporting of horses, tax information and general business management around breeding and training operations. Outside the bloodstock industry his focus is on helping small businesses grow. “I like to get along side the business owner, working as part of their team to ensure they fulfil their financial and non-financial goals.

Outside the office Phil undertakes voluntary roles based on his passion for cars and horses. He has been on the committee of the Taranaki Trotting Club for the past 10 years, the past nine acting as treasurer and is actively involved in the classic car scene, racing a classic Rapier and restoring anything with wheels.
